release management
service execution
How to visualise release management service execution?
To imagine how our service feels like, picture that you have a new colleague or two who are responsible for releases. For you to know what to expect, we always work according to the previously accepted Release Playbook and if we need to deviate from the playbook, we get prior approval.
After our training course and playbook workshops we usually know (and in friendly terms with) everybody who are involved in a release so on our first execution day:Â
we start scheduling the weekly, bi-weekly and monthly release related calls
we start collecting the release related current work products: Use Cases, User Stories, HLDs, Project Plans, Test Plans, GOLIVE Plans, etc.
we start managing the release related tickets in your (or our) ticket mgmt system (JIRA, GitHub, SalesForce, Asana, etc.)
we chat, email and make calls as any colleague would do...
On the following days we also start creating and sharing release reports and reviews of related work products... ...so nothing fancy but simple release management and peaceful releases...
